On August 30th, the 3-day 2024 China International Big Data Industry Expo (hereinafter referred to as "Big Data Expo") came to a close. Over the past 3 days, representatives from domestic and foreign government departments, heads of enterprises, experts, and scholars engaged in exchanges centered around the theme of "Digital and Intelligent Coexistence: Creating a New Future for High-quality Development of the Digital Economy". More than 1,300 new technologies, products, solutions, and applications in the data field were exhibited, and 154 research and technological achievements in the data field were released. The number of exhibiting and participating enterprises exceeded 3,000.

This year's Data Expo focuses on the latest industry development trends and cutting-edge technological advancements, establishing an **open platform for international exchange and cooperation**. Leading enterprises from various countries around the world showcased their latest achievements in fields such as artificial intelligence, data analysis, edge computing, and the Internet of Things. Twenty-one foreign guests shared their insights in the field of big data during exchange activities like "Data Space", "Mapping the Future with Data Intelligence", and "Innovative Development of the Smart Economy".

Thorsten Tolzmann, Director General of the International Data Space Association (IDSA), said at the opening ceremony: "Data sharing is the foundation for future big data applications and AI services. Only when data is shared can algorithms be effective, which is crucial for all enterprises and industries."

Let enterprises "play the leading role" on the stage of the Data Expo. This year's Data Expo encourages and supports enterprises to take the lead in organizing industry exchange activities and special events, with activities led or participated in by enterprises accounting for over 60%.

At the "Data Elements + AI Large Model" × High-quality Development Forum for Thousands of Industries, Tongfang CNKI Digital Publishing Technology Co., Ltd., one of the organizers, signed strategic cooperation agreements with the Cultural Big Data Industry Committee of the China Public Relations Association, Guiyang Big Data Exchange, China Standard Press, Huawei Cloud, and others to jointly build the Huazhi Large Model ecosystem, explore new market opportunities, and promote industrial upgrading. Liu Changxin, Party Secretary and Chairman of Tongfang CNKI, stated that in the future, the company will continue to deeply cultivate the data element industry, actively integrate into the transformation of the AI industry, and continuously explore the path of "digital-intelligence integration" between data elements and AI large models, accelerating the empowerment for the high-quality development of the digital economy.

As a world-class platform for creating cooperation opportunities, this year's Data Expo achieved fruitful results in project matchmaking. The conference meticulously organized multiple supply-demand matchmaking events, such as the "Supply and Demand Matchmaking Event for High-quality Development of the Digital Economy" and the "Precision Investment Promotion Matchmaking Event for the Optoelectronic Industry". It released 122 scenario requirements and 100 big data industry investment promotion projects, with a proposed investment of 83 billion yuan. Nearly 150 enterprises participated, and a number of projects were signed on-site. Several enterprises reached cooperation agreements at the event.

This year's Data Expo also prioritized and highlighted exhibitions, covering an exhibition area of 60,000 square meters. It innovatively established special exhibition areas such as artificial intelligence, computing power ecosystem, data elements × intelligent manufacturing, and data elements × digital transformation, comprehensively showcasing cutting-edge products in data, computing power, large models, and other fields.

The "Big Watt" electric power AI robot capable of Q&A interaction with the audience, and the VR (virtual reality) experience of substation drone patrol on site... At the Guiyang International Convention and Exhibition Center, China Southern Power Grid Corporation showcased over 50 digital achievements at the 2024 Data Expo, comprehensively demonstrating the results of digital transformation. Liao Xing, Senior Manager of the Planning Department of the Digitalization Department of China Southern Power Grid Guizhou Power Grid Company, introduced on the spot: "China Southern Power Grid has created a series of high-quality data products in the fields of green low-carbon, urban governance, emergency management, industrial manufacturing, etc., allowing power data to integrate new digital and intelligent impetus into various industries and expand new spaces for value growth."

As the world's first exposition themed on big data, the China International Big Data Expo (CIDAE) was first held in Guiyang in 2015, and this year marks its tenth edition. To fully leverage the role of CIDAE as an international exchange and cooperation platform for open sharing and resource aggregation, this edition of the expo has carefully planned a series of activities including the "CIDAE Decade Achievements Exhibition," "CIDAE Decade Retrospective Interviews," and "CIDAE Decade Field Exploration.".
